All that Giggles {Lake County IL, Family Photographer}

I love the minute you meet a family and you know they are going to be fun!  This family was completely that way.  The giggles and smiles were endless no matter what happened.  It’s always fun to see how carefree and happy kids are in their own environment, especially when juice / milk breaks are a common must for all of my photo sessions.

Being a big sister myself it was so cute to see how much this big sister loved her little brother. My favorite moment of the entire photo session was when she ran up and gave him a kiss on the cheek.  His reaction was pure happiness and joy! What do you think of his little smile?  Melts my heart…

We ended our session in quite possibly the coolest way I could image…playing with Play Dough and bubbles!  I know I had a blast with this little family…I sure hope they had the same with me!

College Bound {Cary IL, Senior Photographer}

I have moments when I don’t think I’m in my 30’s.  Like it’s all pretend and I’m going to wake up suddenly with my Mom telling me I’m going to be late for school and not to forget to drop off my sister and brother.  Moments when I feel like I just graduated high school and next fall I’ll be starting my first year in college.  Maybe because life is so fresh and exciting for you when you are ending your journey in high school and about to start life at college…maybe because it’s true what they say about how being a kid is the easy part of life.  Whatever it is, there are moments when I secretly wish I was back in my teens.  (Don’t worry Jeff, I wouldn’t give up one day without you…)

Spending an afternoon this past fall with Alyssa was such a treat.  I enjoyed seeing how excited she was about going off to college and I truly understand how it feels to know you’ll leave behind your furry friend.  I know Alyssa will do awesome with what life has in store for her and I hope she enjoys every little moment on her journey at college.

Do you know of a senior looking to get their senior photos taken or are you a senior looking to get your photos taken?  Please contact me and I would love to create a customized session just for them / you!

Dress Shopping

This weekend was an exciting weekend for me, my mom and my little sister.  We went wedding dress shopping!!!  My little sister is getting married this summer and I couldn’t be more happier for her and her future husband.  Who knew shopping for a dress would be such an emotional journey?!?!  It was so amazing to step back and watch my little sister look over each dress searching for the one she’s dreamed about since she was a little girl.  It only took us two stores and about 15 dresses until she found “THE ONE”.

The dress you put on and compare every other dress to…

The dress you put on and realize you aren’t a little girl anymore…

The dress you feel your heart skip a beat in…

The dress you put on and get tears in your eyes when you realize this is the dress you are going to start your future in…

Twice as Nice {Lake County IL, Newborn Photographer}

I was so excited to get the opportunity to photograph the cutest twin boys I have ever seen!  The boys arrived around Thanksgiving and provided Mom and Dad with a few extra reasons to be thankful.  Spending the afternoon with the new parents made me believe these two were naturals.  I’m sure taking care of two babies can be a handful but Mom and Dad were pros!  I have a feeling between family and friends these little guys are going to grow up surrounded by a lot of love and joy.  I can’t help but think of the saying “good things come in small packages”…newborn babies fit that perfectly!

Blessing Baby {Round Lake Beach IL, Newborn Photographer}

It warms my heart when you hear the story of how long a couple waited for their baby blessing to arrive.  It restores your faith and hope that with patience and trust in God what is meant to be will be.  This little family was no different.  Spending the afternoon photographing the newest member of this family was all my pleasure.  I ended up leaving with a warm heart and a sore face from laughing so much.  I wish them nothing but happiness and joy.
