Baby J {Newborn Photographer, Vernon Hills IL}

This past summer I got a chance to meet Baby J, an adorable little newborn boy.  He was just 14 days new when I photographed him and it is always a joy to capture those memories that will last a lifetime.  I had taken his parent’s maternity photos earlier in the summer and we all couldn’t wait to meet him.  He was such peaceful and calm baby, a perfect fit with his parents.  I just love the look a new Mommy and Daddy give their first child…Priceless.

Do you remember being young and having the best birthday parties ever?

This little girl had quite possibly the cutest Pink Lemonade Birthday party I have ever seen!  Her mom thought of everything from Pink Lemonade to drink to Pink Lemonade cupcakes and cookies.  Everything matched and looked just beautiful.  The best part of the party quite possibly had to be the Owl piñata…little kids make the best faces when candy is involved!

What was your favorite birthday party growing up?

Patiently Waiting {Lake County IL, Maternity Photographer}

Spending time with soon-to-be parents is always such a pleasure.  You can feel the mix of emotions they carry around: joy, anticipation, wonder and love.  For 9 months they wait patiently for their child to come into this world.

Photographing these two was such a treat. Lake County has such amazingly beautiful nature preserves all around and we decided to visit the Rollins Savanna for this photo session.  We lucked out when the sun decided to peak out after a prior night of thunderstorms and a morning full of thick gloomy clouds.  In my opinion though, the sun was purely an added bonus to the glow this mommy-to-be and daddy-to-be carried around…Don’t you agree?

8 months down and only one more to go before we get to meet this little bundle!

It always amazes me how smart new babies are when it comes to their surrounds and their parents.  They can tell the moment they hear Daddy’s voice and know Mommy’s touch.  Baby R showed me again how strong this connection is even when he was drifting off to sleep snuggled into a blanket hand-made by his Grandma.  A few snuggly kisses from Mommy brought out the smiles as he soaked up all the love and attention.  It’s always so fun to see the baby that was tucked up inside Mommy’s tummy.

I do have one small piece of advice for this little guy…learn to love hockey.  The Chicago Blackhawks are a pretty great team and your Mommy and Daddy are pretty big fans.
