2014 Review {Lake County IL, Newborn Photographer}

I am beyond blessed…this little dream of mine is growing every day! I have met so many amazing families this past year that at times I feel like I have to pinch myself. As I sit and look back at 2014 I am in awe of the moments I have captured for families and the trust that you have given to me in capturing these moments.  I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for me and you!  I can’t wait to watch all of my little babies grow up and meet all the new little ones waiting to arrive.  I can’t wait to watch couples start their lives together and families celebrate milestones.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! You have made 2014 an amazing year!

Take a peek at what fun I had during 2014!

Summer Rain Wedding {Lake County IL, Wedding Photographer}

They say rain on your wedding day is a good thing. A blessing if you think of it that way. If that’s the case Sarah and Zak were down poured with blessings during their big day! You always want to have memories of your big day…for me it was my dad stepping on the back of my dress…for Sarah & Zak it will likely be the summer monsoon of 2014. The greatest thing though about rain on your wedding day is realizing that not even a little rain can stop family and friends from celebrating such a special and joyous time!  I just know that these two are in for an amazing and wonderful life as Mr & Mrs.
Take a look at their special day! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Johns!

Golden Rehearsal {Lake County IL, Wedding Photographer}

This past summer…I know it’s fall but let’s re-live the sunny warm days just a bit more…I got to photograph an absolutely beautiful wedding.  Sarah and Zak were the cutest couple and their families were equally adorable!  Sarah & Zak had picked the perfect place to host their wedding at, The Heritage Prairie Farm.  Have you ever been there?  If not, you seriously need to go.  They have a cute little farmers market during the summer and the location is just stunning.  It’s country, organic, sweet, cozy, all wrapped into a little package.

I don’t think I could have envisioned a better location for these two to get married at…it fit them perfectly.  I joined them for their rehearsal and dinner with their closest family and friends.  This group of people really adore Sarah & Zak and it was so amazing to see how much love and excitement everyone had for this duo.  We were able to sneak away and grab some “day before your wedding” photos before the rehearsal actually started.  It’s so fun to watch a rehearsal…how closely the little kids pay attention because they have very important roles and how much good fun the bridal party likes to give the wedding couple.  Dinner following the rehearsal was amazing, organic pizzas with delicious home made cobbler!  I seriously wished I brought a container to take home some extra cobbler for a late night snack. But to be honest, the best part of the day was the glowing summer sunset that ended their wedding-eve.  Sarah & Zak were surrounded by their loved ones ready to start the journey together as husband and wife.

Their wedding day was even more spectacular so make sure you come back tomorrow to see how their story ends!

Dress Shopping

This weekend was an exciting weekend for me, my mom and my little sister.  We went wedding dress shopping!!!  My little sister is getting married this summer and I couldn’t be more happier for her and her future husband.  Who knew shopping for a dress would be such an emotional journey?!?!  It was so amazing to step back and watch my little sister look over each dress searching for the one she’s dreamed about since she was a little girl.  It only took us two stores and about 15 dresses until she found “THE ONE”.

The dress you put on and compare every other dress to…

The dress you put on and realize you aren’t a little girl anymore…

The dress you feel your heart skip a beat in…

The dress you put on and get tears in your eyes when you realize this is the dress you are going to start your future in…
