Becoming 4 {Lake County IL, Maternity Photographer}

Being a mom myself to two fur babies, it always makes my heart melt when couples include their fur babies in their photo session with their soon to be first little baby.  Fur babies are a big part of the family and can’t be forgotten with the crazy happenings of new additions. This pup was a pure doll during our time together.  I can’t wait to see him with his little sibling…I’m sure it will be love and protection at first sight.  Mom and Dad were such great troopers during our time together.  Midwest, sunset, summer is a bad mixture for mosquitoes.  But you have to admit this location is worth it.  I think it’s safe to even say that this location is my favorite spot ever!

Becoming Parents {Lake County IL, Maternity Photographer}

Becoming a Mom and a Dad is a big moment…scary moment…exciting moment all wrapped up in a little 7ish pound package.  You wait in worry for 9 months to make sure that you are doing everything you can to keep your little one growing and safe.  There are moments of fear and moments of pure joy all within a short 9 month period.  9 crazy months to grow your “perfect in every way” little one.  This mom and dad are going to be great parents.  Not only are they super cute but they are amazing people as well.  During our little photo reveal time we ended up just sitting and chatting for quite a bit after they saw their photos.  It’s so great to come into a couple’s life and join them on their journey to becoming a Mom & Dad.

Lakefront Baby Bump {Lake County IL, Maternity Photographer}

This couple is super cute!  They are going to be amazing parents.  They are so calm and relaxed…just going with the flow.  I am seriously jealous of their mad skills.

For their session we mixed in some beach front fun with a little downtown brick boldness.  The sun was perfect for their session and added just the right amount of something extra to this already adorable duo!  (Trio actually if you count the little one.) I am so excited to meet their little one this weekend!

Baby Samuel {Lake County IL, Newborn Photographer}

A great part of photographing new babies is meeting new families.  This family just recently came to IL after living across the pond in Michigan…and I’ll be honest.  I’m so glad they came here!  Mom, Dad and big sister were so much fun to hang out with during their photo session and after!  Not only did I get to learn about Frozen and play dolls but I also love when you meet someone and the next thing you know you are talking about things so deep and personal…it’s almost as if you were long lost best friends from summer camp reconnecting.  We all have stories and journeys…it’s what makes us who we are and it’s something I love about working with people.  This little man was such a joy to photograph.  I can’t wait to watch him grow up and see what great things are in store for him and his life…I’m pretty sure he has some great blessings coming his way!

Six Months {Lake County IL, Newborn Photographer}

It’s crazy to think that this little guy is already 6 months old!  It feels like just the other day when I first met his Mom and Dad at Panera and he was just a few months away from even being born.  It’s so amazing to watch a little family grow and be able to capture moments along the way with them from their bump session to their newborn session.  This session was quite a treat because his little personality was shinning though…it was also the first time he got to see and touch grass. How were you when you first touched grass? Did you like it or hate it? My mom tells me stories of how I hated the grass as a little girl and how I would cry the second I was put down in it.  Go figure…this explain why I’m not a wilderness girl.  🙂  This little guy was the complete opposite of me and was so curious about the green stuff.  He could not get enough of it!  He would constantly crawl to the side of the blanket to reach for the green strings.  It was such a great moment to watch and capture.  I think they will have a hard time keeping this little one inside as he continues to grow up!

I can’t wait to see this little guy continue to grow!
