Week 1 of 2015 {Lake County IL, Photographer}

With the start of the new year comes the start of new traditions and resolutions.  A chance for you to have a fresh start or try again to tackle something you’ve been trying so hard to accomplish.  I’m a fan of resolutions, although I’ll admit I’m a pro at starting things and then letting them fall by the side after a few weeks…just ask my husband.  But I will admit that I love the thought of trying something new and pushing yourself to grow.  So with that, I’m starting a Project 365.  I tried to start one last year but made it two days before I forgot about it…I told you I’m a pro a letting things fall by the side…but this year I am really going to try my best to complete it for the entire year.

What is a Project 365?  It’s a challenge for me to take a photo every day in 2015 with my camera. I will be posting my photos on my Instagram page with a weekly wrap up on Friday of my past week’s photos.  Want to join in or follow along? Be sure to follow me on Instagram.

Landon Turns 6 Months {Racine WI, Newborn Photographer}

I have some of the best friends in the world.  This lady has been with me for about 10 years now…crazy how fast time flies! During that time we’ve seen each other get married and she has had two adorable little babies. The littlest one is already six months old.  I feel like it was just yesterday when he was born and we were doing his newborn photos! This past fall we were so blessed with a crazy beautiful sunset and gorgeous orange leaves all around to capture some family photos and little six month photos. I love the six month mark in little babies…they have the best facial expressions around and Landon did not disappoint!

Fall Time with the B Family {Lake County IL, Family Photographer}

This little family is so great to hang out with…I love how the girls promise me they will share their Halloween candy with me and they tell me all about their toys and adventures. I also love how during our two hours together C can chat away the entire time with me. I’ve gotten to photograph this little family quite a few times and each time it seems like we have more fun!

I hope these girls continue to bring their parents the joy and adventures I know are hidden deep inside of them!

J Turns 1 {Lake County IL, Baby Photographer}

Turning 1 is a great milestone.  For some parents it comes with the fear that your little one is growing up…while for some little ones it comes with the newfound joy that they can move and discover the great things around them.  This little man was so happy and excited by everything around him.  He also has some pretty awesome parents that he simply adores, you can tell by the eye squinting smile he would give them.  This little family has quite possibly the cutest little puppy…I’m such a sucker for cute little animals.  Plus I think he liked me too…I guess I have some good puppy taming skills.

Beach Fun {Racine Wi, Photographer}

This summer has been just beautiful for photos (minus the last week of rain and humidity) but trust me when you watch the next sunset…I bet it will be amazing! I love taking photos when the sun is screaming through the trees before it goes down at night giving everything it touches a beautiful golden glow.  This family’s session happened to be on the perfect night. I mean…there isn’t anything I would have changed, the sun, weather, location…it was magic. It’s the night I pray every client of mine gets to experience for their backdrop…the perfect backdrop.

I knew this family loved the outdoors.  They go to a cabin up north every summer, they enjoy cookouts with family / friends, and making trips to the local pool or Brewer’s games all summer long. This spot by the beach in Racine was perfect for them! I could envision the boys sitting in the tall grass watching the boats in the lake and the family sitting together on the pier with the sun just glowing behind them. Our night together was great…there were bubbles, playing in the sand, rock climbing and even taking an adventure walk to the big red lighthouse near by.  It was a time for the family to have fun, enjoy themselves and have some memories captured.

Here’s to the end of summer but not to forgetting how much fun it was!
